What is a silicone bra?

A silicone bra is a type of adhesive bra women can wear with strapless or off-the-shoulder clothing. Made of silicone that sticks to and supports the bust, it keeps straps out of sight with backless or low-cut outfits. Silicone bras come in different sizes and shapes and are usually sold in closed boxes with instructions.

Unlike many adhesive bras, silicone bras are durable and reusable. Standard adhesive bras often lose their stickiness after a few uses, while silicone bras can be used the same way even after several washes. Advantages include no strap marks, comfort and reusability; some models come with removable pads to help shape the bust.

On the downside, they may not give enough support for everyone, and sweat or body oils can reduce adhesion and cause the bra to peel. Choose a size that provides the support you need.

How do you wear a silicone bra?

Silicone bras are designed for low-cut, off-shoulder, one-shoulder or strapless outfits. They have no hooks or clasps; instead, an adhesive surface keeps them in place.

1. Apply to clean, dry skin. Wipe the area with a damp towel first to remove oil and moisture so the bra stays in place all day.
2. Position each cup on your bust and press gently with your hands so it adheres fully.
3. Once both cups are in place, pull the front tie to shape the bust as desired.

Tips: avoid very hot or humid environments; do not wear it on irritated or injured skin; remove it carefully.

How do you wash a silicone bra?

1. Gently wipe the bra with a damp cloth to remove dust and dirt.
2. Dip it in lukewarm soapy water. Do not pull or rub – squeeze gently.
3. Rinse thoroughly and press out excess water.
4. Lay it on a towel to dry, keeping its shape.
5. Once dry, reapply the protective film to the adhesive side and store.
